Our Story

Our story begins in the late 90’s in a small town in central Pennsylvania called State College, where two kids from Pittsburgh and Philadelphia became friends at Penn State University. At that point in time, we were both members of the Acacia fraternity and doing what 20-year college “students” do best. Having a blast! Oh, and lots of studying of course.

After graduating from Penn State (barely), life’s journey has taken us all over the map throughout our professional careers, but in 2008, we both ended up back in Happy Valley. While this reunion was short lived, with each of us moving on again to greener pastures, it was clear we had both developed an intense entrepreneurial spirit since our college days. Gold Hen would not become a reality until many years later, but the seed had been planted.

In 2019, an unexpected reunion took place. For work purposes, we had both relocated to the Raleigh area in the great state of North Carolina. Common interests still included golf, cooking, tailgating, Penn State football, and a nice glass of bourbon! While enjoying a few cocktails one evening, the idea of starting a business resurfaced. As semi-professional tailgaters and wanna-be-chefs, we knew we had a great product to bring to the masses. One that had been hand crafted and perfected over time. Our house-made Bloody Mary Mix. Gold Hen had been born!

The year is now 2025 and WE ARE proud to bring you Gold Hen “Sweet with a Little Heat” Bloody Mary Mix. We truly hope you enjoy it!
